The Canadian agency NFOE and Associates Architects has invested its new offices in the heart of Old Montreal. The agency now occupies the first two floors of the New York Life, the oldest skyscraper in the city.
Contemporary and refined intervention, the project dialogues with the history of the place. Glass, gypsum and metal flirt with the existing Corinthian columns, cornices and ornate ceilings. In the meeting room, the panels slide on the woodwork. On the ground floor, the library is nestled in the old vault. Freed from the existing partitioning, the new workspace is left free, dotted with alcoves conducive to impromptu meetings.
