Agence Jouin Manku : Les Haras de Strasbourg

The Haras de Strasbourg just a facelift under the leadership of the agency Jouin Manku. An ambitious project to install in places 4 a star and the first brewery chef Marc Haeberlin in these listed buildings.

Central element of the project, a staircase circled raw beech spirals that wind in a spiral-movement around the building of 32 oak stairs. This impressive structure lets visitors admire from the ground floor of the monumental structure stables. With this project, the architects their vision of an authentic and modern all subtly inspired by the world of the horse. The materials chosen are deliberately few and appeal to the raw wood, natural leather and blackened or brushed metal. Upstairs microarchitecture covered with cowhide used to set a private space. In this yurt 30 m², and almost 5 meters high, curves and overlays reminiscent of the parts of a saddle. Everything in this project echoes riding, wooden furniture and leather evokes the saddle racks, while many existing elements are retained, the frame and joists, period plaster on the floor, the cobbles ... an ambitious and generous project that sublime piece of the heritage of the city of Strasbourg, which is inspired by the history of the place, but without betraying by modernizing it by pure interventions and inspired.
