Sella Concept : Omar’s Place

Bring sun and heat to a Victorian building? A challenge brilliantly taken up by the studio Sella Concept with Omar's Place, a contemporary Mediterranean restaurant with noble materials and bright tones, made in the heart of London (England).

Divided into two spaces - on the ground floor, the main dining venue can accommodate up to 36 diners, and in the basement a private wine cellar where 50 people can dine in an intimate atmosphere - the Omar's Place is a bright place where terracotta walls and wood-paved floors mingle with voluptuous furnishings in velvet and brass.


Built on a rectangular plan, the first visible part of the bistro consists of a terrazzo bar topped with minimalist golden suspensions reflected in a circular mirror placed behind the drinks. A round pattern found in many elements: the tables - also in terrazzo -, the seats signed Carl Hansen and the wall cutout delimiting an alcove where another dining room takes place. The walls are lined with comfortable orange banquettes and exotic plants, reminiscent of the Egyptian origins of the owner, Omar Shabaan.

The menu is the image of the place: refined and friendly, and offers original dishes, all made from products from Mediterranean countries.
