Sergio Mannino Studio : Medly

The cloakroom of an art deco pool? The secret landmark of a team of superheroes? Nothing of the sort. The turquoise case imagined by the studio Sergio Mannino is actually home to a local Medly online prescriptions service, allowing you to come and collect prescription drugs previously ordered through the eponymous application.

To say that this pharmacy of 117 square meters located in the New York district of Brooklyn (USA) changes the usual places of medical reception would be a euphemism! 1970-inspired floor tiles feature a pigmented cement desk, voluptuous green vinyl chairs, and shelves for home remedies, all in a shades of turquoise, featuring the graphic identity of the brand. Medly.

The furniture is designed in tribute to the work of the Japanese designer Shiro Kuramata, known for his poetic and sensual style. The comfortable banquettes facing each other encourage conviviality, something rare among apothecaries.

"Because the community is a core value of Medly, we have ensured that our design fits that purpose. The nature of the small space means that customers will instinctively mingle with each other and staff, unlike large pharmacies that inadvertently separate people across large aisles. " Sergio Mannino Studio

A plexiglass wall conceals the preparation room at the rear of the stall where prescriptions and orders are sorted. A place more in line with the image that is made of a pharmacy but where the walls painted mint color are the link with the main room.

Because that says clinical place does not necessarily mean sanitized design and interior.
