Didier Versavel : Smartroom

Accessibility standards are today an essential parameter in the design of places dedicated to public reception. For the AccorHotels Group, they are also an opportunity to develop a new concept, Smartroom, entrusted to interior designer Didier Versavel.

Interior designer, designer and graphic designer, Didier Versavel started his career at École Boulle, before creating his own studio in 2006 where he developed a transdisciplinary approach that led him to design a door model for the Drakkar brand. that a whole hotel interior design concept for the AccorHotels group. A large-scale project aimed at putting the well-being of all users - valid, disabled or elderly, pregnant women, as young children.

A wide target to which it responds with a sober and colorful design, embellished with discrete devices controlled by a tablet that allows the adjustment of sound, light sources, or the closing of curtains. A digital aid complemented by motion sensors located at the foot of the bed intended to facilitate night movements, a pivoting partition that allows more room for the circulation of a wheelchair for example, a tilting headboard, a luminous metronome to facilitate falling asleep, switches with a specific color code, etc. We are far from stereotypical furniture and equipment often reserved for people with reduced mobility. Here, the customer is simply in a room reserved for its users. And that's all his strength!

A more than concrete application of "Stories to share", as Didier Versavel likes to name his projects. A vision that fits perfectly with the primary mission of hotels: the welcome.
