SABO Project : Sacha

Facing a newcomer to the family without moving? A dilemma that many parents face, including those in the capital's 5 district. Housed in a duplex on the Left Bank, this couple was able to count on the New York and Parisian SABO Project, which transforms a dated apartment into a contemporary and functional fireplace when baby arrives.

First step: remove the existing fixtures and furniture, too old and not adapted to the daily life of this future family. It was then a question of reorganizing the spaces in order to make the most of the capacities of each one of them.

Thus, the large open living room is now at the first level, in a very clean language. White walls and concrete ceiling and wooden floor frame custom furniture in plywood, integrated into the wall. The different uses of this material allow to create a unit throughout the apartment. Only touches of color, the green chairs in the dining room and a red, blue and yellow light suspension, make the whole room look pretty. Little more, many alcoves welcome the cat in every room of the house.

Leading to the night spaces, a cylindrical staircase surrounded by thin slats - always in plywood - is the heart of the home. In the basement, the rooms reinterpret the same codes as on the floor by including an ankle wall as a headboard of the master bedroom.

Simple, but terribly effective!
