Collet & Muller Architectes : Un appartement parisien des sixties

After the transformation of an old farm of the Oise (60) into a comfortable family home, the French agency Collet & Muller Architects has taken up a new challenge: the renovation of a Parisian apartment of the sixties. The result is a contemporary home with a functional layout and minimalist decoration. Visit a small nugget nestled in the heart of Paris.

Located in a modest concrete building of the capital, the original apartment is a simple realization dating from the 1960 years. The renovation, entrusted to the agency Collet & Muller Architects, therefore first consisted of the transformation of the existing housing into a functional space adapted to contemporary lifestyles.

Teams from Collet & Muller Architects designed the new space organization to modernize the apartment. They have indeed worked on the arrangement of rooms and circulation to register the apartment in a more contemporary trend. The initial central corridor then disappears in favor of a more fluid circular circulation, while the slight modification of the layout transforms the old space into an ergonomic and luminous interior.

If the architects want to keep the original concrete beam as an element of decoration like furniture, they also mix designer pieces and contemporary furniture. The iconic Wassily chair designed by Marcel Breuer and the E60 wooden stools designed by Alvar Aalto are side by side with a coffee table and console by Collet & Muller Architects.

An intimate design cocoon bathed in light where life is good.
