Collet & Muller Architectes : Un appartement parisien des sixties

After the transformation of an old farm in the Oise (60) into a comfortable family home, the French agency Collet & Muller Architects took up a new challenge: the renovation of a Parisian apartment from the sixties. The result is a contemporary home with a functional layout and minimalist decoration. Visit of a small nugget nestled in the heart of Paris.

Located in a modest concrete building in the capital, the original apartment is a simple achievement dating from the 1960s. The renovation, entrusted to the agency Collet & Muller Architectes, therefore first consisted of the transformation of the building. existing home in a functional space adapted to contemporary lifestyles.

Collet & Muller Architects teams designed the new spatial organization in order to modernize the apartment. They have indeed worked on the layout of the rooms and circulation to bring the apartment into a more contemporary trend. The initial central corridor then disappears in favor of a more fluid circular circulation, while the slight modification of the layout transforms the old space into an ergonomic and bright interior.

If the architects wish to keep the original concrete beam to make it a decorative element like the furniture, they also mix designer pieces and contemporary furniture. The iconic Wassily chair designed by Marcel Breuer and the E60 wooden stools designed by Alvar Aalto thus sit alongside a coffee table and a console signed Collet & Muller Architects.

An intimate design cocoon bathed in light where life is good.
