Atelier Steve : L’Appartement Batignolles

At the head of the architectural agency Atelier Steve since 2016, the young Frenchwoman Pauline Borgia likes to take a fresh look at old-fashioned interiors. After several successful projects, she is now tackling the dated development of an apartment nestled in the heart of the Batignolles. A renovation with character that transforms the dusty interior of this typically Parisian accommodation into a contemporary gem. A real master stroke!

Located in the heart of Paris, this 65 square meter apartment has been completely revisited by the team of Atelier Steve at the request of the new owners. The dated decoration, the dilapidated wallpapers and the outdated spatial logic of the old accommodation now give way to a colorful and bright interior, where life is good.

In order to fulfill all of the sponsors' wishes, the home has been redesigned using natural light passing through the original home. The architects have indeed reorganized the spatial logic and circulation of the apartment to create a living space bathed in light. Thanks to the addition of a folding partition and a new layout of the rooms, the apartment, doubly oriented, is bathed in natural light throughout the day.

The success of the renovation also lies in the judicious work on the chromatic range. The flat areas - pink, gray, green, or ocher - shape the identity of the house. While the ocher hue of the hallway suggests, upon entering, the deliberately subdued atmosphere of the accommodation, the pale pink of the kitchen opens the room to the rest of the apartment. Green frames on the walls structure the various volumes, however, symbolically separating the dining room from the kitchen and the living room.

With Pauline Borgia, nothing is ever left to chance. In this small space where every detail counts, the tailor-made storage optimizes the space while structuring it. These contemporary graphic modules - low storage and vertical solid wood panels - accentuate the vertical lines and the height under ceiling of this Parisian pied-à-terre.

An intelligent renovation that brilliantly combines past and present.
