For this project, the Dutch designer chose top-of-the-range equipment for the kitchen and the three bathrooms. Here, the spotlight is on classic Dornbracht fittings and Alape countertop solutions.

With their extravagant finishes and original shapes, the products underline the exclusive lounge character of the ambience. Combining form and function for perfect usability is a passion of Dutch interior designer Judith van Mourik. It caused a sensation, for example, with the award-winning design of the hotel-restaurant Parc Broekhuizen in Leersum or with the design of the Relais & Chateaux Weeshuis in Gouda.

With her detailed design language and careful choice of materials, Judith van Mourik willingly transposes the special atmosphere of the hotel and the comfort associated with it into private homes.

The "Townhouse" is a residential building from the 1920s which has been extended to reach a living area of almost 160 m². Its ground floor has an open plan that merges the kitchen, dining room and living room like a hotel lounge. Judith van Mourik had a coffee bar installed as a discreet dividing element.

Here and in the modern kitchen, Tara fittings provide a timeless touch. This design icon is characterized by its balanced proportions, its characteristic cross handles and its impressive semi-circular spout. The first Tara, designed in 1992 by Sieger Design for Dornbracht, allowed the development of a series of versatile fittings: in the "Townhouse", the Dark Platinum matt and brushed brass finishes with a real gold finish underline the exclusive character of the 'atmosphere.

For the guest bathroom, which is also on the ground floor, Dornbracht supplied an individual special version of its classic fittings in green. This harmonizes perfectly with the Folio countertop solution from Alape.

Upstairs there are two further bathrooms, also fitted with Tara, VAIA and Meta taps for sinks and showers. Judith van Mourik integrated a bathroom directly into the bedroom. The second bathroom specially designed for children is completely white, including the fittings. The interior designer used products from Alape: a designer mirror with variable lighting, the Assist shelf system, the remarkable Metaphor washbasin as well as the Aqua Deep Indigo washbasin with its nuanced color scheme.

The very design and functional equipment of all the bathrooms of the “Townhouse” deliberately evokes a contemporary hotel architecture oriented towards the future. With consistent design concepts, sanitary products that are both functionally innovative and timeless in design thus bring more luxury and conviviality into the private sphere...
