Greta Garbo's apartment on Manhattan's East Side, where the enigmatic actress spent her long retirement, is back on the market for $7,25 million. Last sold for $8,5 million in 2017 after a fierce bidding war, the home retains many of the actress's furnishings and personal touches although it has of course been renovated.

The place is particularly distinguished by its massive kitchen, connected to a formal dining room. Wood-paneled walls adorn the living room, Garbo's favorite space, which features a gas fireplace and adjoining office. French doors at the end open to a lovely balcony cooled by breezes from the river. The first bedroom features walls and a headboard in the pink color Fortuny silk, dear to Garbo, while the second includes a pink and green color V'Soske rug designed by the film star. Each decorative element has been carefully chosen…

The apartment is located in the legendary Campanile building which has hosted many celebrities including: Ethel Barrymore, Rex Harrison and members of the billionaire Rothschild and Heinz families.
