At the same time urban, architectural and landscaped project, the Requalification of downtown Benfeld (67) by the rhb architects agency and the landscaper Bruno Kubler is a subtle work of heritage enhancement, in order to make the center more attractive and practicable for the inhabitants of the commune.
The whole covers 16 square meters of land, and follows several stages. The first one ? The installation of a sheet of granite slab deployed around the town hall and encompassing the surrounding roads, sidewalks and small squares. A contemporary geometric pattern punctuating the comings and goings of the inhabitants.
The project is completed by the addition of structures. The first, a delicate mesh, conceals the technical equipment of the town and contributes to creating the identity of this Alsatian city center. A public passage was also set up in the annex of the presbyteries in order to connect this dynamic hyper-center to a square with wooden ramparts made by the architects and reminiscent of the first structure.
A simple but terribly effective project!
