SPACES Architecture : Passerelle de la Combe d'Ire

The footbridge designed by SPACES Architecture spans the Ire, the Regional Natural Park of the Bauges river in Haute Savoie. This naive construction, clear and raw wood assembly, seems delicately placed on the bed of the river, and touching its surface.

It integrates and merges with its environment. Its vertical rhythm refers us to the slender silhouette of trees and its raw material responds to the surrounding green setting. The covered walkway, offers refuge to its users the time of the crossing and honors the covered bridge in the movie The Bridges of Madison County. It connects two banks, two disjoined forever.
