Danish designer Pernille Snedker Hansen from Snedker Studio presented her "Marbelous Wood" floor at the Danish Biennale for Crafts and Design 2011. By applying a decorative technique to a raw pine parquet, it emphasizes its grain and gives it a marbled appearance , colorful and vibrant which makes "Marbelous Wood" a unique wood floor covering.

On Marbelous Wood, Snedker Studio says:

"Marbelous Wood challenges the way we use wood in our built environment, where function and aesthetics reach a sublime level of harmony. Pernille Snedker Hansen has repurposed an old marbling technique giving wood a supernatural, organic, colorful and vibrant pattern. The decoration applied engages in a dialogue with the natural growth rings of the underlying wood. Marbelous Wood reveals the mysteries in wood, exposing its story and immense details embodied in nature. "
