A Japanese company has just put on the market of windows with integrated photovoltaic cells, a coupling product domestic production of insulation and solar energy.

For the development of this solution, the Tokyo-based company Nihon Telecommunication System Inc. has used a glazing 10,5 millimeters thick provided with solar cells with an efficiency of at 7 8%.

Available at an average price of 1 900 USD per square meter, this solution ensures energy production 70 Watts per square meter of glazing. Adapted to the residential market, it can power a personal computer or recharge a mobile phone via a simple USB connection. Beyond energy production, this solution also guarantees an internal sunshine reduction 90%, thus reducing substantially the cost of air conditioning.
