Cersaie 2008: le carreau de céramique en 3D

International meeting of ceramic tile manufacturers and designers, Cersaie has just closed its doors. This year, a trend is confirmed: the tile abandons its flat and smooth surface to thicken and texture in 3 dimensions.

The latest edition of cersaie, ceramic tile salon and bathroom equipment, held in Bologna from 30 September to 4 October 2008. The opportunity for the visitor to discover the latest creations and novelties of the sector. 

Already in recent years, texture asserts this year a little more like a major trend. Until thin, flat, tile turns. It thickens and its surface becomes three-dimensional. Carved deep, she alternates the hollows and reliefs.

The Australian ceramics manufacturer Dune, thus presents this tile in quilted appearance also available with foil finish:

Playing also on the thickness and the metallized areas (gold, silver or aged steel), the Italian manufacturer Cottoveneto offers these lines tile design classic and contemporary at once, rereading moldings and reliefs finely crafted and detailed:

As with each edition of cersaieIs an architect and a renowned designer who designed the poster for the show. After Toyo Ito in 2007 and 2006 by Antonio Citterio, it was this year the turn of Thom Mayne.
