Small Fry for the publisher, the young French architect Arthur Leitner designed the series of coffee tables "Basil". A little creation that comes in three forms, spherical, trapezoidal and tetrahedral.

"Basil" consists of a cork board, based on a minimum structure in powdercoated steel and epoxy painted. The contrast created by the coldness of the white metal and the warmth of cork seems trapped in the tangle of metal rods.

On this project, the designer Arthur Leitner explains:

"Basil was born of the desire to use cork for its silky, firm and slightly elastic and resulted in a set of side tables whose uniqueness lies in its extreme simplicity. The cork board is placed on a structure steel, a game takes place between the air and the metal structure dense volume of cork. the basic form of the latter contributes to the aesthetic simplicity of the furniture, which tends to get rid of all superfluous detail. "

The Basil coffee tables will be presented at the Maison & Objet fair from September 5 to 9, 2014 in Paris Nord Villepinte.
