Description

The fruit of 80's years of research and development, Accoya® is a high performance solid wood modified by a process of molecular modification by acetylation. The woods subjected to this process have properties superior to those of the best tropical wood and teak with a quasi-imputrescibility and perfect dimensional stability without deformation or tiling.
This stability brings a very long life of the glazes and paints that may be applied to it.
Accoya® comes from certified fast-growing timber, and is certified Cradle to Cradle Gold.
Non-toxic and 100% biodegradable, it can be recycled or incinerated for bioenergy production.
With a longevity and a guarantee of more than 50 years above ground and 25 years in land and water, it has the advantage of increasing the potential for carbon sequestration.
Accoya® can be used for different applications: Exterior, terrace, siding, street furniture, sun breeze, window ...

Maker

RHODIA ACETOW

The acetylation plant is located in Arnhem in the Netherlands and produces about 40 000 m3 from Accoya® per year from 2006 to a capacity of 60 000 m3 in 2018. The process of acetylation of solid wood is patented by Accsys Technologies but it is commercially developed under license by the industrial group Rhodia ACETOW in Europe, which wants to diversify and which already controls the acetylation process (acetate) for more than 'a century. The modification process and Accoya® wood are checked several times a year by certification bodies (KOMO & FCBA). Accoya is marketed in more than 40 countries and its development continues to grow.
