Created by the Archimedia group, the Young Moroccan Architecture Awards (YMAA) will reward the creativity of architectural achievements signed by young Moroccan architects. The call for applications for the first edition is open to architects under the age of 45 until October 10, 2020.
In 2020, the YMAA will award prizes to young talents of Moroccan architecture in order to highlight the most emblematic architectural achievements of the country.
Supported by the Archimedia press group, this prize list will distinguish for the first time the projects of the best Moroccan architects in 32 categories, which aim to reflect all architectural practices. Chaired by the renowned architect Taoufik El Oufir, the jury will be composed of professionals from the sector such as the architect Christian de Portzamparc, and will award three distinctions including two prizes which will reward the end of studies projects of Moroccan students schooled in Morocco or abroad.
The first edition of the Young Moroccan Architecture Awards will put the spotlight on contemporary Moroccan architecture, and will provide the young winners with significant recognition in the sector and international media coverage.
