Alexis Mabille, a designer known in the world of fashion, founded his interior design agency, Beaubow, based in Paris. Portrait of the man who is also an official member of the Fédération de la Haute Couture and Knight of Arts and Letters.

Alexis Mabille is recognized for his art of clothing. He is now unveiling a new facet of his creative universe: interior decoration. A passion born at an early age with the architects and decorators of his family, and which he cultivates by multiplying new experiences and achievements. Alexis Mabille gives free rein to his intuitions, likes to play with styles: "I have more memories than if I were a thousand years old" said Charles Baudelaire. A collection of images and lived experiences, both contrasting and converging, have forged the sensitivity of the creator.

From an early age, he enjoyed assembling, transforming fabrics, colors, materials, in order to bring his imagination to life. He confirms his vocation by taking courses at the School of the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture: he will dress women's bodies.

After exciting collaborations with John Galliano and Hedi Slimane for Christian Dior, then the house of Yves Saint Laurent, he created his brand in 2005. Throughout the collections, his sense of materials, colors and structures naturally guides him towards decoration, the creation of furniture and decorative objects.

In her first apartment on rue Saint-Roch, Alexis Mabille feels the urge to collect, to hunt, to compose a living space in her image. The interior architecture emanates from a singular desire to adapt art to life, an incarnation of the beautiful and the necessary. The Viennese spirit of the early XNUMXth century, like the radicalism and audacity of the Bauhaus, command his admiration.

He likes the line and the elegance of the modern movement embodied by Pierre Chareau or Robert Mallet-Stevens as well as the freedom of the great decorator Jean-Michel Frank "who furnishes by removing furniture". His reverie is also nourished by the creative games of the surrealist movement, the “neo-classical” journey of Emilio Terry or even Serge Roche.

In 2019, he was invited to develop various private and public places such as the Frou-Frou, restaurant of the Edouard VII Theater, where an eclectic atmosphere, inspired by Carlo Mollino, combines intimacy and comfort. At Le Bœuf sur le Toit, he combines Art Deco marquetry, furniture and lighting inspired by René Prou and Jean Royère for the dining room, then summons the spirits of Jean-Michel Frank and Erté for the bar-library and the music hall, in a warm and festive atmosphere.

Alexis Mabille then revisits the Maison de la Truffe with wooden panels, exposed stone and wood tapestries; he makes it a setting for lovers of the earth's black diamond. In 2021, he is also asked to design the decoration of the Cipriani Saint Tropez restaurant. Mediterranean chic translates into a lush pergola conducive to epicurean pleasures. Soon, he will interpret the codes of the essential Caviar Kaspia, which will open its doors in Los Angeles.
