The Giros & Coutellier agency presents the Sketch Hotel (MGallery).

Located in the heart of the Parc du Champs de Mars, the Esquisse Hotel & Spa (the city's first 5-star) has 57 rooms (including 15 suites) and 2 Penthouse apartments.

This 3200 m2 hotel designed by the Parisian agency Giros & Coutellier is inspired by the work of the Colmarian sculptor Auguste Bartholdi (19th century), creator of the Statue of Liberty.

A true haven of peace surrounded by greenery, L'Esquisse is a new building (signed AEA Architecture). The champagne-colored facade is made with a system of perforated sheet metal shutters with a plant motif, like an echo of the lime trees in the park.

Singular and spectacular, the work of Auguste Bartholdi is the common thread of the project designed by Lluc Giros & Timothé Coutellier.

Upon arrival, the visitor is immersed in a universe reminiscent of an artist's studio through a neat and warm decoration and raw materials (black and white marbles, block of rough stone and picture frames).

In the lobby, the reception desk is dressed in a copper drape like a nod to the work of a work in progress. Placed in the center of the lobby, the bar houses a monumental sculpture that could be installed thanks to the double height of the ceiling.

Designed by Giros & Coutellier and produced by Jean Pierre Lebureau, Meilleur Ouvrier de France ornamentist, this work illuminates the space thanks to its hammered copper sheets and its copper color, raw and warm.

Eclectic, the furniture chosen makes it possible to sublimate the idea of a workshop that the architects wanted to give to the space thanks to varied and coherent pieces. Many elements have been designed and made to measure for the hotel (coffee tables, bedroom chairs, armchairs, guest table, etc.).

With noble materials such as copper, marble or granite, the rooms and apartments extend this discourse to create a harmonious atmosphere. As you progress through the floors, the works are shaped. In the bedrooms, on a concrete wall, we discover an accumulation of materials and textures like an artistic medium where Carrara marble, Maquina marble and leather become headboards… Similar to works in progress.

About Giros & Coutellier:

Giros & Coutellier, an interior design agency based in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, is the result of the association in 2013 of Lluc Giros and Timothé Coutellier.

Lluc, originally from Barcelona, is an interior designer. Timothé, trained in Bordeaux, is a designer. It is within Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance's Agency that they meet and learn to work together. Today they form a complementary pair that carries a dynamic vision, in perpetual movement, on all of their projects. If Lluc applies particularly to the functions and the program of the places they imagine, Timothé answers on the volumes, the images, and the points of view. Their approach always combines pragmatic thinking and the search for a unique identity to determine a strong positioning. Each project has its own personality, it is the result of all the elements constituting it: a meeting, a place, desires, constraints, creativity and the permanent concern of the end user. Driven by a desire for authenticity and an endlessly renewed curiosity, the duo likes to use noble and little transformed materials. Harmony of volumes, purified perspectives, deep colors, expressive textures… All the finishes are chosen with care to constitute the personality of the tandem. GirosCoutellier
