The new application developed by the Frac Île-de-France, "Sors de ta reserve!" », was launched on May 9, 2022. Thanks to this new tool allowing the public to appropriate the collection (more than 2000 works to discover), nearly 250 users have already created an account to choose a work, so that it is exhibited in the central spaces of the Reserves, the new Frac site in Romainville.
The selection period via the application was open from May 9 to 22 and on May 22 at midnight, a draw via an algorithm assigned a number to all the chosen works. Those that arrived at the top of this ranking, within the limit of what the exhibition spaces of the Reserves can contain (400 m2 dedicated to 5 clashes per year), therefore constitute the 1st edition of this unprecedented participatory project, Sors de ta reserve # 1, presented from June 23 to October 1.
33 works were chosen by the public, produced by 33 artists:
Wilfrid Almendra, Jean-Marie Appriou, Charles Avery, Joannis Avramidis, Eva Barto, Valérie Belin, Neïl Beloufa, Jean-Luc Blanc, Katinka Bock, Melanie Bonajo, Pierre Bismuth & Michel Gondry, Julien Carreyn, Delphine Coindet, Kevin Desbouis, Mimosa Échard, Pierre Faure, Michel François, Jenny Gage, Étienne Hajdu, Lucien Hervé, Daniel Jacoby, Servane Mary, Philippe Mayaux, Bruce Nauman, Véra Pagava, Gyan Panchal, Florence Paradeis, Chloé Quenum, Franck Scurti, Zin Taylor, Tursic & Mille .
This first selection, including recent pieces as well as older, even historical ones, perfectly represents the diversity of mediums found in the Frac's collection: sculpture, video, painting, photography, installation, drawing. It also reflects the diversity of current artistic creation.
The public has thus become a fully-fledged player in a large collection of contemporary art by determining which works should be presented in the exhibition spaces...
