Designed by Atelier PHILEAS, school Groupe Bernard Buffet at Paris is part of an extensive program including a student residence 152 housing, a central production kitchen of 1250 meals / day and finally a comprehensive school classes and 12 center Hobbies. ZAC Cardinet-Chalabre illustrates the great ambitions of the City of Paris and aims to achieve a significant and sustainable neighborhood in the heart of the capital. The program is distinguished by its architecture that seeks to reflect the exceptional nature of the approach. The architects decided to split the program into 5 volumes of unequal sizes.
Very graphic, contemporary and playful, the building houses down the school office and leisure center on 2 tributaries separated by the courtyard and connected by a footbridge. Above are the two sets of student housing. In order to "open the project", the architects put housing on school base "plant" and split into two unequal entities. One of them is a slender plot that emerges from the corner of the street Chalabre. The second entity is a bar that stretches the length of the site and made a "backdrop" to the project.
The fronts of elementary and kindergarten classes are fully adorned with a green gradient composed of terracotta panels Manufacturer Alphaton® Moeding, while those of housing relative of suns breezes reminiscent of fine branches. The game of "balconies" and terraces brings the housing facades a habitat morphology which is characterized by a variability front volume and openings. The texture of the brick screen wall reinforces the animation of the facades.
