Here is an exhibition full of promises not to be missed! From June 15, the curious will have the opportunity to discover 110 new puppets and decorative objects through an instructive journey: from the origins of these figurines to today.
It is a promise for which the museum will close its doors from May 11 to June 14: a period during which it will set up these brand new acquisitions.
The day after this preparation, therefore, the public will discover 110 new puppets and other decorative objects, 70 of which come from loans from contemporary companies or partner museums and 40 from MAM acquisitions. Among the latter: works by French puppet figures such as François Lazaro (founder of the Clastic theater company).
But by the way, what is the puppet? Where is the puppet from? What is the puppet used for? How is the puppet played? The museum has an answer to all these questions.
Thus 10 rooms make up this renewed journey showing the diversity of this art to visitors: from entertainment to art therapy, through social denunciation and the transmission of ancestral rites, the puppet has accompanied humanity in its great questions since its origins. until our days…
So, want to know more? See you at the Museum of Arts and Puppetry in Lyon from June 15!
