In this time conducive to documentary viewing, the design editor Vitra unveils “Chair Times”, a film which traces the history of the chair through 125 objects from the collection of the Vitra Design Museum. From the XNUMXth century to the most recent creations, a look back at an artefact that says a lot about its time.

True markers of fashion and the ethics of a society, the chairs come out of our dining rooms for the duration of a documentary. Presented by Vitra, “Chair Times” unveils the facets of a piece of furniture that allows us to recognize and understand an era. Social structures, materials, techniques, habits and styles are so many elements that a simple chair can dissect.

Guided by Vitra President Emeritus and former CEO Rolf Fehlbaum, big names in design such as creators Hella Jongerius and Ronan Bouroullec, architect David Chipperfield and curators of the Vitra Design Museum Amelie Klein, Jochen Eisenbrand and offer us new keys to understanding.
